Instead I Decided to Try Something Different

I remember once, about a month ago, when I was extremely hurt and felt such a strong urge to binge/starve myself, drink and cut myself or take an overdose. Instead I decided to try something different and I went to the chapel and prayed and cried my heart out in front of the Blessed Sacrament. The release, peace and joy I felt afterwards were incredible. – written by one of the women I help hold accountable

Her words flooded my soul with many memories. To this day, I say that the Blessed Sacrament saved my life. I want to encourage you to go and spend time with your Heavenly Father in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. Be still in His presence, marvel at His wonders, laugh with Him, cry with Him, tell Him stories, share your feelings, sorrows and struggles with Him and your life will never be the same again. But don’t take my word for it – try it, see for yourself.

Out of the darkness of my life, so much frustrated, I put before you the one great thing to love on earth: the Blessed Sacrament….There you will find romance, glory, honour, fidelity, and the true way of all your loves on earth, and more than that: Death: by the divine paradox, that which ends life, and demands the surrender of all, and yet by the taste (or foretaste) of which alone can what you seek in your earthly relationships (love, faithfulness, joy) be maintained, or take on that complexion of reality, of eternal endurance, which every man’s heart desires. – J.R.R. Tolkien

My roommate Mariu, really likes the feast of the Three King’s (which is tomorrow – Jan. 6th). Growing up, it was a tradition in her house to leave a bowl of grass and water for the Three King’s camels, as well as to sprinkle (more like throw in this case) baby powder on the floor so they could see the hoof prints in the morning.

Happy Feast of the Epiphany!! And I wonder who is going to clean up that baby powder…
