Lingerie is for a Woman’s Husband, not a Runway

I was informed yesterday while watching the news, that the Victoria Secret fashion show will air tonight. I have witnessed how countless young women admire these models. And it’s exceedingly sad to see. They think they have the perfect body. In fact, they perceive everything about their lives to be perfect.

Yes, Victoria Secret models are physically attractive. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with physical beauty. That is the way God Himself created women. He created us to inspire a sense of charm, mystery and wonder in a man. And this is very good. This is the way God intended it to be.

Every woman yearns to be seen for more than her physical beauty. Because let’s be real, there is more to a woman than her appearance. But how can a man see a woman’s heart if she bares her flesh first? A woman’s body was not created to be flaunted on a runway wearing lingerie. Lingerie is for a woman’s husband, not a runway.

In February 2012, Kylie Bisutti stopped modeling for Victoria Secret because she wanted to preserve her body for her husband. I give her a tremendous amount of credit for her courage and bravery. She also seeks to be a positive role model for young women in regards to body image and eating disorders. She told ABC News back in February, “Thousands of girls think that being beautiful is an outer issue, but really it’s a heart issue.”

Ladies, your worth is indescribable. And I want to lovingly encourage you to not watch the show that will air tonight. That is not true beauty. Beauty radiates from the heart unto the face. And ask yourself this? What kind of husband would want their wife’s body exposed in such a revealing and sexual way? No man who I would marry that’s for sure. And no man who you should marry. You are worth more than that. You are worth a man who will cherish and protect your purity and body. Anything sexual should be preserved for a husband and wife, not national television. You’re worth more than that ladies. Wait for a man to honor you for the beautiful gift that you are.

The following advice from a father to his daughter is exquisite.

Boxer Muhammad Ali’s Advice To His Daughter: Everything that God made valuable in the world is covered and hard to get to. Where do you find diamonds? Deep down in the ground, covered and protected. Where do you find pearls? Deep down at the bottom of the ocean, covered up and protected in a beautiful shell. Where do you find gold? Way down in the mine, covered over with layers and layers of rock. You’ve got to work hard to get to them. Your body is sacred. You’re far more precious than diamonds and pearls, and you should be covered too.

P.S. You’re enough.
