You are made in His image.

You are beautiful. You are valuable. You are enough.

What we do

Made in His Image provides a safe and compassionate setting for dialogue and discussion that foster hope and healing. In this space, we:

  • Empower women in their journey from victim to survivor

  • Encourage holistic medical treatment and healing for women suffering from eating disorders or physical or sexual abuse

  • Educate women on the nature and dignity of the human person, created in the image and likeness of God

Additionally, Made in His Image is passionate about raising awareness about these issues that are often covered in a shroud of silence. Often, people are not aware of the extent to which abuse is perpetrated in the lives of those around them. Eating disorders, domestic violence, and abuse are frequently hidden, and their symptoms unnoticed. By raising awareness about these issues and bringing them out of the silence, we will instill hope, unlock shame, and empower women in their journeys from victim to survivor.

How we do it

We share our stories

The Made in His Image blog is a safe place where real women from all walks of life share their insights and stories. The Made in His Image blog is important because it reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles. Topics include eating disorders, body image, modesty, depression, pornography, and more.

We change lives

Made in His Image hears from countless women each year who need financial assistance to receive the help they need. All one-time donations to Made in His Image go directly toward providing professional counseling to women in need. Because of your generosity, we can make a real difference for women seeking help.

About our founder

Maura Preszler was born and raised in northern New Jersey, where she graduated college from Seton Hall University. After college she moved to Nashville, TN where she worked as a baker and pastry chef. In September 2011 God etched in her heart the desire to launch a ministry for women recovering from eating disorders and abuse inspired from her own story. She left her job and founded Made in His Image.

Maura has an immense yearning to inspire others to choose to see beauty in their suffering and in the ambiguity of life. It is her desire to use her story to foster hope and healing in the lives of all she encounters. Maura is dedicated to breaking the stigma associated with therapy and educating women about their inherent dignity, beauty and the love that God has for them as Father.

Maura is a former Division 1 runner and soccer player. She lives in San Diego, California with her husband Michael and two sons, Pio and Noah.

Our Core Values

Hope

As so many women struggle to see hope amidst the darkness and suffering they are experiencing, we want Made in His Image to be a beacon of hope for those who have lost it.

Empowerment

It’s common for victims of abuse to remain in a mindset that they are, and always will be, a victim. While any former harm done is a reality, at Made in His Image, we hope to instill in women the courage to live a flourishing life by confronting the many challenges they face.

Authenticity

Overcoming any obstacle takes perseverance. It takes real courage, raw vulnerability and true honesty, and we desire to cultivate and nurture that spirit in all women.
