SaraBeth Geoghegan

I work with an exceedingly talented musician and song writer. Her name is SaraBeth Geoghegan and I have had the privilege of getting to know her over the past few months. One of the first things that caught my attention about SaraBeth is her joy. Blessed Mother Teresa once said, “Joy is a net by which we can catch souls.” SaraBeth lives out that joy beautifully and naturally draws others to herself by her positive personality.

SaraBeth is a southern girl; she grew up in New Orleans and moved to Nashville to attend school several years ago. Since graduating from Belmont University SaraBeth has launched a website, recorded several cd’s, performed in countless shows, been on tour, and provided worship music for many youth camps around the country.

A majority of SaraBeth’s music is Christian and one day she is going to play a show for my non-profit. I wanted to share three of her songs with you today. The first song is called Ooh, we need Jesus. This song is so comforting and gentle. SaraBeth’s candor is beautiful and describes is an elegant way how dependent we are on God. The second song is called Beautiful Jesus. SaraBeth played me this song one night after we went out to dinner together. I think this song truly captures a glimpse of SaraBeth’s talent. Her songwriting skills are impeccable as she gives her listeners a glimmer inside the life of an eating disorder. This song is profoundly close to my heart, because I use to say the same line to God that SaraBeth sings, “Beautiful Jesus, make me look like You.” Click here to listen to it: 05 Beautiful Jesus

The third song is called Tell me what You see. This song also describes the inside life of an eating disorder, and how desperate we are for God’s help in our lives. It also could be used to help with self-esteem and other issues as well. Jesus sees such beauty in His children and is waiting for us to ask Him to show us that beauty. Click here to listen:

I hope you enjoy the songs and that they inspire you as much as they have inspired me. Check out SaraBeth’s website: www.sarabethsongs.com
