You, Yes You, are Enough

I’m flying back to Nashville right now after speaking to the students at the University of Pittsburgh. The woman who sat next to me has an eating disorder and my heart really aches for her. Her husband was trying to coax her into eating dinner, but she wouldn’t  and this encounter further solidified the importance of Made in His Image in my heart. Then my mind wandered back to my college days, when I thought a man’s addiction to pornography was my fault. The sad part – I truly believed I was ugly and despised any reflection of myself. I thought about the eating disorder I had in high school and college and how I didn’t think I was enough. But do you know what? I am enough. That woman on the plane is enough. YOU are enough.

You are beautiful not by the standards of this world. You are beautiful simply because God made you in His Image. He is jealous for you. And He desires to come into your life and tear down the emptiness and fill you with His peace. I’ve seen it. I’ve tasted it. I’m alive today because of Him. I tried everything. Nothing brings me fulfillment like He does. Nothing.

Ladies, you are cherished by an all loving, gentle, compassionate and merciful Father. He is waiting for you to come to Him. He yearns to help you. Ask Him tonight to come into your life to make it whole. He is patiently waiting for you because He would never force Himself on you. His love is sweet, gentle and compassionate.

You are beautiful and loved. Now get out there and show the world your warmth, beauty, and dignity, all of which stem from being a child of God.
