“I proceeded to cover every inappropriate magazine.”

dec 29th

Today, while flying to Maryland to speak, I had a layover in Charlotte, NC. Sometimes I think Charlotte is my second home because I’m there so much and know the layout of the airport. Besides, they have coffee at every terminal, plus free internet. I’m telling you, as airports go, it’s one of the best.

This afternoon as I was getting coffee (yup it was a second cup, it’s been an exceedingly busy week and I’m exhausted). You know the saying “America runs on Dunkin’?” Well my motto this week has been “I run on the Eucharist, Rosary and coffee (not Dunkin Donuts – too weak). Anyway, back to business, so this afternoon as I was getting coffee in Charlotte, I turn my head and glanced through the pane of glass into a shop that sells newspapers, chips, soda, magazines (basically everything that’s bad for you). And what is displayed prominently on the newsstand for everyone to see? The latest swimsuit issue from Sports Illustrated. Lord have mercy on us!! I nearly threw up in my mouth, left the line and walked next door to take every magazine and flip it over. Nobody stopped me so I proceeded to cover every inappropriate magazine. (The people at the store didn’t stop me, because they knew deep down, it was the right thing to do).

I despise that filth. If I had all the money in the world, first I would build our medical center for Made in His Image and then I would become a lawyer and fight to make pornography illegal. I have faith that one day someone will make porn illegal. We must keep praying and never cease to implore our Heavenly Father for our petitions. He places those desires on our hearts for a reason.

What about you? Is there something that you want to see changed in your life time? Do you pray about it?  Do you actively work towards making your dream a reality? And it doesn’t have to be some grandiose dream or plan, it could be about your life – recovering from an eating disorder, making the choice to go to counseling, facing on addiction, etc.

Pray with faith my friends and never stop! Never give up!

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. – Romans 12:12

P.S. You are enough.
