Hello, and welcome to I fight Him with love! I fight Him with love is the official blog for Made in His Image. Recently, I fight Him with Love has had many new followers, which is fantastic!!!Thank you so much for reading!! Your enthusiasm for the mission excites me!

I would like to sincerely thank my friends, family and people I have never met in their support of Made in His Image. From “liking” it on Facebook, sharing it on their Facebook page, telling friends, making donations, offering your holy prayers for the mission, editing drifts of my book to your beautiful and heartfelt encouragement! I am truly grateful and blessed! This morning, while praying before the Blessed Sacrament I cried tears of joy for all that the Father has done to bless this mission. His mercy, love and Fatherly protection is unfathomable!

For those of you reading my blog for the first time I want to welcome you and explain a little more about Made in His Image. First, check out our amazing logo! Please give it up for Christi Marcheschi my graphic designer! Christi is an incredible designer, so please keep her in mind if you need anything designed in the future. I asked Christi to describe her design and this is what she wrote.

Maura asked me to share a little bit about the design process for the Made in His Image logo. When I first took on this project, I asked Maura to do a little homework to describe the vision for Made in His Image. A message of hope and transformation kept coming through her words and there came an inspiration to draw the dove carrying an olive branch, which was a symbol of hope and new growth for Noah after the great flood. Another part of Maura’s vision is that women come to realize their true dignity and worth, so the purple color speaks to the royalty of women who are truly daughters of the King. It as been a great joy to work on this project with Maura. My prayers are with her as she launches this beautiful organization and ministry for young women.

Some common questions that people ask me are answered in the above tap labeled FAQs.

Exciting news! In less then a month I’m submitting my manuscript to Ignatius Press. I invite you to pray and fast with me that they will publish it. My book is called Choosing to See Beauty and is the story of how I came to call God, Father and see myself as His daughter. In it I write about my recovery from an eating disorder, abuse, depression, chronic post traumatic stress disorder, a year of trauma therapy, a Catholic doctor who changed my outlook on suffering, a loved one’s addiction to pornography, my time as a student-athlete, my time as a missionary, a summer in Kolkata, India serving with the Missionaries of Charity and most importantly the love of the Father.

Also, for those of you reading my blog for the first time, below is the purpose of Made in His Image (the name of the non-profit).

To provide holistic medical treatment and healing for females recovering from eating disorders and physical and sexual abuse. And to educate all patients on the nature and dignity of the human person, being created in the image and likeness of God.

Made in His Image will be the first Catholic inpatient medical center for females recovering from eating disorders and abuse. Outpatient services will also be available for patients needing less rigorous care. The patients who come to Made in His Image will be treated holistically – body, mind and spirit. Medical doctors, nurses, and dietitians will provide for their medical care, as Catholic psychologists aid the patients in addressing one of the most fundamental questions in life – Who am I? Each patient will be educated on their dignity and worth as a daughter of God, created in the image and likeness of God. Patients will also be educated on one of the most essential components of healing – forgiveness.

After being cleared medically by the doctors on staff, the patients will also learn how to incorporate sports into their lives in a healthy and productive manner. Upon leaving they will have made great strides psychologically and medically, as well as having a deeper understanding of their identity, and the love of the Father. I want to use this ministry to gather women from around the country and ultimately the world, so they can bask in God the Father’s healing Hands.

People often ask how I came up with the name for my blog. And you can read all about that here.

Thank you so much for reading and please continue to spread the message about this newly launched non-profit. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions, comments or are interested in financially supporting this mission!

Consider this my friends – “When you think of all the things in your life which remain worthless for not having been offered to God, you should act like a miser, anxious to get hold of every opportunity you can and to make use of each and every suffering. For if suffering is always there for us poor creatures, what can it be but stupidity to waste it.”

Saint Josemaria’s words speak into the very heart of this non-profit. There is a copious amount of evil and suffering in the world and if we dwell upon it, instead of choosing to see the beauty we would quickly despair. Made in His Image exists to gather females from around the world, so we can unite our sufferings to Christ, draw inspiration from one another, offer hope, and expose all to the healing Hands of the Father. Thank you for being apart of this magnificent mission!
