Here’s What’s Been Happening!

Well I’m officially in love. Who is the love of my life you might ask? Good question. Allow me to introduce you to him. He is just a few weeks old and his name is Bennett. He is the cutest and most sweetest baby ever. Ahh, I could hold him in my arms all day. Right now it’s night-time, and he is sound asleep in his little chair swaddled in his favorite blanket. He is very gently, almost biting his lip and he just looks adorable.

I just started another chapter of my book after holding him until he fell asleep. I hope to get a good portion of the chapter done before he wakes up in a few hours for another feeding. But there is a slight problem – I keep getting up to make sure young Bennett is still breathing. He was born several weeks premature and is so tiny, I just want to make sure he is okay. Even if I don’t get another word typed, this evening with sweet little Bennett is beautiful. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I can’t wait to be a mom one day.

Speaking of moms, this past Monday (October 10th) was my mother’s birthday! I certainly called and wished her a Happy Birthday last Monday But since I am writing about updates from the week, I couldn’t leave my Mom’s birthday out of the mix.

I love this picture of my Mom, which was taken at my brother’s wedding.

Happy Birthday Mom! I love you very much!! See you soon!

Made in His Image made tremendous strides this week, which is exceedingly exciting! Here’s what’s happening – I appointed two more Board of Directors, which I’m thrilled about. My lawyer and I submitted some important legal documents to the state of Tennessee, which makes us one step closer to being officially a non-profit.

I wrote and uploaded two more sections for my blog. The first is FAQ, and you can click here to read it. The second is Fashion and the Feminine Genius, and you can click here to read this section.

More exciting news – Ignatius Press is going to read my manuscript this December. I am literally jumping out of my seat as I type this. IGNATIUS PRESS!!! WHOAH!! From the depths of my heart I invite you to pray and fast with me, in hopes that they will publish my book. God’s will be done in all things! Also in December, Matthew Fradd, president and founder of The Porn Effect is going to read my manuscript, in the hopes that they will promote my book on their site. I am exceedingly excited about this also. God is faithful, and I have much to be thankful for!! I am in awe of His goodness!

I want to introduce to you all one of Ignatius Press’ most recent publications. Written by Teresa Tomeo, Extreme Makeover is a must read for women living in today’s perverse culture. Check it out here.

My best friend in Nashville is becoming Catholic!!! Please pray for her, as she takes this courageous and bold step towards Truth. Her name is Karissa. And this Tuesday we start RCIA! She has chosen Saint Mary Magdalene as her confirmation saint, so please pray for Karissa through Saint Mary’s intercession! I am so proud of Karissa!

My dear friend Tina was in town last week recording some songs at the studio. Tina is incredibly talented, and is hoping to get a record deal soon. I loved spending time with her, it was so much fun.

After she finished recording one night we went out for beer, spiced cider, pretzels and chicken fingers.

Yep, they were just as good as they look.

Tina and I – Padre sisters for life!

Therese joined us on the second night for some Nashville fun!

2 for 1 cocktails at Whiskey Kitchen in the Gulch. So much fun!!

The other night for dinner I made pizza. I thought it looked pretty so I took a picture.

Peppers, spinach, oregano, mozzarella cheese and homemade tomato sauce – yum!

I’m looking forward to the weeks ahead. I know God has great things planned for Made in His Image and I eagerly await to see them unfold. In the meantime I will keep praying for miracles. Well I have to get back to my sweet precious bundle of joy, he is starting to stir. I just want to hold him, he is so cute.

I want to leave you with a beautiful quote by St. Teresa of Avila (today is her feast day). ‎”Let nothing disturb you, Let nothing frighten you, All things pass away: God never changes. Patience obtains all things. He who has God lacks nothing; God alone suffices.”

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. And if you will, please pray for me.
